Markus 2010-05-10 20:51:00
Hi Marc, You should have received the routes in gpx format. CU Markus
Marc Kleefstra 2010-05-09 20:25:32
Hi Gie, Do you have the Garmin routes in gpx file format as well? I don't have Mapsource on the laptop, so gdb does not work for me right now.
Marc Kleefstra 2010-04-27 22:23:02
Hi all, Have you already seen the GCE membersite? You can mail me for your login if you don't already received the mail about it. What can you expect on the site? - your data as received when you signed up. (most probably it need to be updated) - your profile, just a bit more than your data - a forum for members only If you want more in the futures, it probably can be made possible. Think about a future like a riding calendar or.... See you in about a fortnight
Gie Lambeir 2010-04-22 19:39:30
All routes are renewed, availiable for both Garmin and Tomtom. No excuses for getting lost! If you already have downloaded the routes before, you should replace them by the new ones! There are a lot of small changes, and also the routes of Friday and Saturday have been switched.
Trudie 2010-04-10 20:50:46
Nice routes, nice hotel, nice weather, hard work for youre BBC Marc! Nice weekend in Clervaux
Marc 2010-04-09 20:38:18
Hi all, I'll probably will be riding the BBC (Big Blue Couch) to the TdT. I got her into my possesion just this afternoon. Went for a little ride around town. Tomorrow I will try to ride her a bit further with my daughter as a pillion, so I can see whether or not I like BBC then as well. BBC is (compared with YaNB) a slow braking bike, but she does have a nice sound. Well, you'll see her at the TdT.
Rutger 2010-03-29 16:56:39
Yesterday my first ride of the year... Feels SO good to be on the road again. Now it's only a few weeks until the TdT. I'll see to getting some training..
Stephane 2010-03-29 09:35:18
I am so ready to ride!!! Bike is on standby, new tires too Pirelli Angel ST. Mika, how long will it take you to ride down to LUX?
Gie 2010-03-26 20:45:57
Hi Mika, Snow is already gone here.We already had some nice sunny days last week. Bought new tyres today, renewed brakes a few weeks ago, so the bike is ready to roll.
Mika 2010-03-24 11:38:52
Hi all attenders. Just added all the routes in my Garmin, so I'm ready to roll. Only a few snowbanks on my yard keeps me waiting... CU soon!
Gie 2010-03-14 23:33:20
Stephane, nice you can join us. Now we also have a delegation from France!

Rutger - ZGT00A5 2010-02-03 11:25:25
Hey Gie. My GTR is a '91 A5. So an oldie, but indeed very reliable... I have never regretted buying this machine in 1991...
Gie 2010-02-02 21:13:19
Hi Rutger, I cannot be sure, as I don't know what bike you drive :-) The others are, if there are no changes since last year: 11 GTR1000, 1 GR1400, 3 BMW's, 2 or 3 Pan's, 1 Vulcan. So most of it will be the old reliable (most of the time) GTR1000's. We will ride in 3 groups, at different speeds, and I'll be working on the routes so a shortcut on Friday and Saturday will be possible.
Rutger 2010-02-02 11:12:50
Gie: any idea which types (of GTR's) are coming?? all 1000's or also several 1400's?? Or even NON-GTR's??
Gie 2010-01-31 21:59:37
Registration closed from today, January 31. Because so many of you want to be there, the hotel has no more rooms left! Thanks to Markus, the routes are now also available for Tomtom.
Rutger 2010-01-28 20:39:53
additional info regarding TYRE: See: www.tyre.tk NO, I don't get paid for this.
Rutger 2010-01-28 18:17:55
-> Marc, re Tomtom. Marc you can download a FREE program with which you can make nice routes for Tomtom. T Y R E is the name. This program can also import files from/for Garmin devices. And YES, I will be there.
Gie 2010-01-24 19:26:51
Hi Ewald, no worry, surely we'll meet again. CU, Gie
Ewald from Austria 2010-01-24 18:13:42
Dear Gie, attending the last four TdTs I was already planning for this one which tours trough Germany I could include on my way there. Unfortunately the confirmation celebration date of my daughter is now on the Saturday of TdT :-(. If it would have been Sunday, I would have considered to attend, but in this case I am very sorry, that I can't make it this year. Hope to see you at another GTR meeting, kind regards Ewald
Gie 2010-01-11 19:41:21
The routes will be available for Tomtom soon. Markus offered to convert them to itn format. Thanks to him less people will get lost.
Marc 2010-01-10 21:14:53
Hi Gie, I already have the OKAY from me misses. Now all I have to do is hope that all will go well with the study. I also have a lifetime update AND I have the OnRoute maps for Mapsource as well, though limited at the moment to the BeNeLux area. It's nice, but at first glance I'd say that with a little effort you can make equally good routes in Mapsource.
Gie 2010-01-10 17:57:02
Hallo Marc, Hope you can be with us. The routes are now made in Mapsource, version 6.15.6 but I will go for an update before actually preriding the TdT.As I use a lot of waypoints, other versions will also be pretty accurate. I bought me a lifetime update last year, so I will have the most recent maps while driving in May. I have no experience with transfer to Tomtom, but others know how to do it. (like John). We will probably ride in two or three groups, so it will not be necessary to have the routes. In a small group, we must be able not to get lost :-) to avoid the worst case scenario, it also helps to put in the hotels adress as 'home', so you can find us again anyway. Still four months waiting...
John 2010-01-10 11:47:23
with http://www.verweijweb.nl/images/ITNConv1.63.zip you can convert the gdb to itn. Program looks to be in dutch however.
marc 2010-01-09 22:20:20
Gie, I'll try to be there. Depends a bit on my boss and my study schedule. I hope to become a master this year and still have a lot to do before I can call myself a Master Special Educational Needs :( Like I said, I'll try to be there. As to the note of Rutger: Does TomTom read GPX files? If so, you can read an export of the Garmin route. As to the Garmin files: Which Mapsource do you use Gie? When Mapsource versions vary, the route may vary as well, so in that case the best way to go is to import the Garmin file in into Mapsource without recalculation and draw a new route over it, save that one to your Garmin device and you're done. Duckman
Mika 2010-01-09 16:44:10
At the moment it's -23 outside and summer seems to be so far away. Counting days for ne season to start...
Bernd 2009-12-30 20:58:45
Hi Gie, I'll be behind you and nothing can be happen. We have snow covered slippery roads now, but the bike is already o.k. for 2010. All maintanance is done: new clutch, new brakes and tyres, control chain glider, brake-, gear- and engine oil .... There are only 8 weeks and I'm on the road again! CU in Luxembourg
Gie 2009-10-13 20:01:24
Sorry, I only make the routes on Mapsource (and will preride them) and I will put them also on google maps. Maybe you can ask on the German or the COG forum how to convert gbd files to a format for TomTom. I know software that can do so exists, but I do not have experience with it. The easiest way is to join the TdT and ride the routes with us :-)
Rutger 2009-10-13 13:38:24
1...!!!! Routes will be available for Garmin... how about TomTom?? Regards
